Led by Dr Marcus Smith, GP Partner with specialist expertise in minor surgery and dermatology, our service offers convenient access to assessment and treatment in a professional clinical setting, with a focus on safe, effective care and excellent cosmetic outcomes wherever possible.

Treatments are available for a variety of common skin concerns including warts, verrucas, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses and other benign lesions.

Please note: this service is suitable for benign and non-suspicious lesions only. Where there is any concern regarding a lesion, further medical assessment may be recommended prior to treatment.

  • Yes, minor surgical procedures are typically performed using local anaesthetic to maximise comfort during treatment.

  • Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses targeted freezing therapy to remove selected benign skin lesions by applying extreme cold directly to the affected area.

  • Cryotherapy may be suitable for a range of benign skin lesions including warts, verrucas, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses and selected superficial skin lesions.

  • Most patients experience a brief stinging or burning sensation during treatment, which usually settles quickly after the procedure.

  • Some lesions respond after a single treatment, whilst others may require multiple sessions depending on the type, size and location of the lesion.

  • The treated area may become red, sore or blistered temporarily before healing over the following days or weeks.

  • Healing time varies depending on the area treated and size of the lesion, but most areas heal within 1–3 weeks.
